On the occasion of its sixtieth festival, Nuova Consonanza presented an exhibition that visually narrates the history of the association, founded in Rome in the early 1960s by a group of young composers with the aim of giving space to innovative ideas and experimental practices in radical avant-garde music. Over time, the association has welcomed numerous members and spanned several generations, consistently maintaining a focus on the most complex and heterogeneous trends within the contemporary classical music landscape.
Among the original materials on display were photographs, scores, posters, drawings, and archival documents, offering insight into the vibrant cultural environment of Nuova Consonanza, characterized by rich crossovers between different artistic languages. The exhibition path featured sketches, images from the activities of the Gruppo di Improvvisazione, visual scores, graphic materials, vinyl records, catalogues, and posters, providing significant testimony to this history, accompanied by in-depth texts.
Curated by Silvana Amato, the exhibition opened on Friday, November 10, at the Auditorium Parco della Musica Ennio Morricone, on the occasion of the inauguration of the Sixtieth Festival, and remained open to the public until November 30.
I collaborated in the realization of the exhibition project, contributing to design, visual communication, and editorial design activities, with particular focus on the development of visual materials, layout design, and the definition of the exhibition’s graphic identity and its accompanying catalogue.
I also co-designed the social media communication for the exhibition in collaboration with Studio Silvana Amato, developing visual content and adapting the exhibition’s graphic identity for digital platforms.
The project involved translating the curatorial concept into engaging social materials, ensuring visual coherence across print and online communication.
